        2020 is a significant year for China, which is that the Palace Museum has established for 600 years. It’s an important time to make the world to know and to be with us to witness the glorious time for the human culture. As the world’s precious cultural heritage, the Forbidden City has experienced 600 years of circulation since its establishment, witnessed the prosperity and development of Chinese culture, and continued to carry forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture. The Palace Museum has its unique value in many dimensions, such as history, architecture, clothing. The cultural diversity of the Palace Museum has an irreplaceable position as a starting point of children and youth globally to understand Chinese culture. This event is co-hosted by NO-BOundaries as the event’s oversea organizer and “Hello! My Forbidden City Committee,” as the organizer in China. As the oversea organizer, NO-BOundaries is calling for submissions from children and youth between the ages of 4 to 18 worldwide (excluding mainland China). Through a variety of activities such as online courses, workshops, and touring exhibitions about the Forbidden City, this event will lead children to a comprehensive understanding of the magnificent splendor of the Forbidden City, as well as the history and culture behind it.

      2020年,时逢故宫600周年,在这个重要的特殊时刻,我们期冀能够与身处于世界各地的你一起见证中华传统文化的辉煌时刻。作为世界珍贵的文化遗产,从建立至今,故宫历经了600年的循环,见证了中国文化的兴盛与发展,并继续将中华优秀传统文化传承与弘扬。故宫在历史、建筑、服饰等多个维度,都有其独一无二的价值,故宫的文化多面性作为全球青少年儿童认识中华文化起点有着不可替代的位置。NOBO无界作为该活动的海外主办单位,与发起方 “你好呀!故宫”少儿艺术创作组委会一同面向全球的4至18岁的青少年儿童(中国大陆地区除外)征稿。本次活动将通过故宫主题课程学习、艺术创作、全球巡展等丰富多彩的活动,带领孩子全面了解故宫的壮丽辉煌,及其背后的历史文化。

        The Forbidden City is a treasure of traditional Chinese culture. It has experienced ups and downs for 600 years and has kept us countless cultural and artistic treasures, from the wooden structure building, precious collections to a range of ethnic cultures reflected in the palace culture. This process of change is what we should protect and inherit as Chinese children. Children who participate in this art event can learn the relevant professional courses of the Forbidden City; their work will receive comments and guidance from education experts, and they have the opportunity to be selected in a commemorative album. Whether you are a Chinese who grew up overseas, a student studying abroad, or a foreign friend who loves Chinese culture, you can make a record of this important moment in your own way and use art to create a new annotation for the 600 years of the Forbidden City.

      紫禁城是中华传统文化的瑰宝,600年的时间经历风风雨雨,为我们保留下数不清的文化和艺术珍品,从木结构建筑、珍贵藏品到宫俗文化中体现的各民族文化兼容并蓄的多元化格局……都是我们作为中华儿女应该保护和传承的。参与此次艺术作品征集的小朋友,可以学习到相关专业的的故宫主题课程;作品获得教育专家们的点评和指导,获得参展证书;更有机会入选纪念画册,无论你是成长于海外的华裔,还是留学异国的学子,或是喜爱中华文化的外籍友人你都可以通过自己的方式,为这重要时刻留下一笔纪录,用艺术为紫禁城的600年创下新注解。

Participants

Children and youth aged from 4 to 18 worldwide (except in mainland China).

Preschool: 4-6 years old

Elementary School Group A: 7-9 years old

Elementary School Group B: 10-12 years old

Junior and High School: 13-18 years old

Theme

       To celebrates the 600th anniversary of the Forbidden City, submit the artworks based on the theme of “Hello! Me and my Forbidden City,” such as the Palace Museum Collection, Forbidden City architecture, landscapes, characters, costumes, the Forbidden City ’s past, future, present … etc. Things that can reflect the unique understanding of the Forbidden City as overseas Chinese, study abroad students, and foreign youths who love Chinese culture.

征稿主题

      以“你好呀!故宫”为题,进行多元内容创作,为紫禁城建成600周年祝贺。故宫博物院典藏、紫禁城建筑、风景、人物、服饰、故宫的过去、未来、现在…等均可。能够体现作为海外华裔,留学生,热爱中国文化的外籍青少年儿童对故宫独特的理解。

Material

      We accept 2D Art including drawing, oil painting, printmaking, watercolors, computer art, and etc., Product/Souvenir Design, 3D Art, Photography, and Video.

征稿类别

      本次征稿接受多种形式的艺术创作,如平面作品(包括素描,油画、版画、水彩、电脑艺术等)、商品/纪念品设计、立体创作、摄影、视频。

Submission

     All application will be submitted electronically. If your works are chosen to be displayed in the exhibition, they will not be returned. Selected exhibitors are required to mail their works to the organizing committee office in New York or Beijing within the specified time. Afterwards, the organizer will be responsible for the international shipping costs of the works during the exhibition (except for the three-dimensional works).

Application Deadline:July 1, 2020 (EST).

      参与者一律采用电子投稿,参展作品不予退回。入选后参展者需在指定时间内将作品邮寄至纽约或北京的组委会办公室。组委会将负责展览过程中作品的国际运输费用(立体作品除外)。

征稿截止日期:2020年7月1日(美国东部时间)。

      The Copyright of the selected works belongs to the organizer (oversears organizer: NO-BOundaries, organizer in China: Tomato Art), and the author owns the right of authorship. The organizer has the right to retain the work and use it in related activities (including exhibition, publicity, publication, production of derivatives, etc.) without additional remuneration.

Expenses

Course registration fee is 46 USD per person.* Each participant can submit up to three works.

The course registration fee includes access to online courses and application.

Exhibition entry fee is 100 USD per work.(required for selected artwork.)

      The Forbidden City is like a history book. After nearly 600 years, it carried the rise and fall of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, from the imperial power to the ceremonial system, and from architecture to clothing, all of which reflected Chinese culture. When register, participants will unlock a series of online courses.They can wander around the  Forbidden City, understand the 600 years of history and culture, and explore the secrets of the Forbidden City through the online courses!

      紫禁城就像是一本厚重的历史书,经历近600年时光,承载着明清两代的兴衰,从皇权到礼制,从建筑到服饰,无一不体现了优良的中国文化。快来学习中英文的故宫课程,让孩子们漫步于故宫巍峨殿宇的青砖之上,了解这600年来的文化流转,也通过有趣的课程主题,一探不为人知却令人惊艳的故宫小秘密!

      The 12 courses of “Hello! Me and My Forbidden City”, starting from the insight into royal life, extend to the fields of architecture, culture, life, aesthetics, design and so on. Through contemporary interpretations,  courses will lead the children one by one to discover the traditional culture and the profound foundation of life aesthetics.

      “Hello!我和我的故宫”的12期课程,围绕皇廷生活出发,延伸至建筑、文化、生活、美学、设计等领域,用当代的诠释眼光,带领孩子逐一发现传统文化的颠峰卓越与生活美学的深厚底蕴。

  • 600 works to be displayed in the online exhibition

600 works will be displayed online on the official website of NO-BOundaries. They will be also included in the painting album.

  •  200 works to be displayed in the U.S. exhibition

200 works will be displayed in New York, U.S. Artists will be awarded certificates of participation.

  •  50 works to be displayed in the final exhibition

50  works  will  be displayed  in  the  final exhibition, traveling around Beijing, Shanghai, and other places. Artists from all over the world will witness the historical beauty of the Forbidden City. They will receive a  participation certificate issued by the committee and have the opportunity to be awarded the title of “Forbidden City Cultural Envoy”.

600件入围作品将在NOBO无界官方网站进行线上展示。同时入围作品将被收录进纪念画册。

  • 200件入选美国展览

200件作品将在美国纽约的展览中展示。参展者将获得组委会颁发参展证书。

  • 50件入选全球大展

50件作品将在北京、上海等地的巡展中展示。各国参展者将一同鉴证故宫的历史之美。参展者将获得组委会颁发的参展证书并有机会被授予“紫禁城文化推广小使者”称号。

the Forbidden City!

      The 600th anniversary of the Forbidden City is a 2020 event that deserves everyone’s participation, and each participating work is a blessing to the Forbidden City! We will launch an online “ Share  your  art and blessings” (share your artwork on Facebook and INS with tag #Hello! My Forbidden City!# and @ us) campaign to celebrate the Forbidden City, and invite more people to know the treasure of the Forbidden City!
