The 2th NO-BOundaries Art and Science International Education Forum

No partners with Lamont and global centers present the New York City installment of the fouth annual 2019 No-Boundaries International Art Exhibitions at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, Columbia University  from August 12 to 16, 2019. This exhibition features 150 artworks by children in grades K-12 from 15 countries, including 50 artworks by kids from the New York City area and across the U.S.

This year’s theme is” a drop of water“, which encourages exploration of the relationship between human beings and water through art. No-Boundaries is a multi-city project that aims to build an international art and educational platform by connecting young artists regardless of nationality, languages or culture. The artwork will be shown in galleries open to the public in the host cities of Beijing, Paris, Nairobi, New York and Rio de Janeiro.

“The No-Boundaries exhibitions exemplify Columbia University’s educational mission by showcasing the artistic talent of young people from many cultures who are actively engaged with issues that affect all peoples regardless of their locale,” said Safwan Masri, Executive Vice President for Global Centers and Global Development. “This presents a unique opportunity to leverage the power of the arts as a lingua franca that connects human beings across geographical, linguistic and cultural borders.”

In order to better establish an international academic communication platform, and to create more opportunities of exhibitions and communication for excellent educators throughout the world who consistently work with NOBO to spread the educational concept of “making art the stepping stone to commonweal and to be the world citizens” ,in 2019, NOBO will once again invite educators with international vision and commonweal feelings to join us in exploring the combination of art education and other disciplines under the current global trend in a multicultural context. The forum will be held at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, Columbia University, which is the core part of Earth institute, Columbia University. We will explore the concept of interdisciplinary education together, and explore the potential of multidisciplinary cross-border collisions, the realization of the combination of scientific knowledge transfer and humanistic cultivation.
